Tatamibeya and publisher WorldMap have released the first in a new series of development updates for The End of History, a sandbox strategy RPG with systemic medieval simulation elements coming to the Early Access launch via Steam on December 10. The studio is focusing this update on combat responsiveness—one of the most consistent areas of feedback from players who tried the original demo.

According to the developers, many users reported that combat actions did not always respond as expected, leading to input friction and unintended movements. For Early Access, the team has rebuilt several core systems to make combat more intuitive, more agile, and less stressful to control.
One of the biggest changes affects the dodge roll and target focus (including customization options), producing faster reactions, fewer incorrect inputs, and a smoother combat rhythm overall. Additional upgrades include refined attack animation speeds, shortened hit-stun durations—particularly from ranged attacks—cleaner transitions between animations, and generally improved behavior across the entire control chain.
The studio notes that these refinements are only the beginning. Combat responsiveness will continue to evolve throughout Early Access based on ongoing player feedback. The next dev update in the series will focus on enhancements to enemy AI as the team prepares The End of History for its December 10 release.
