Riyo Games and Humble Games have released a new trailer for Threads of Time during the PC Gaming Show at Tokyo Game Show 2025, offering a fresh look at the era-spanning turn-based RPG. The footage highlights both characters and settings across different time periods, alongside glimpses of combat mechanics and exploration.

In Threads of Time, players gather a party of heroes drawn from across the ages to battle a sinister force threatening the past, present, and future. Battles are turn-based but dynamic, allowing characters to bend time, link attacks into stylish combos, and overcome enemies with unique abilities. New footage introduced Rin, a kitsune ninja from the year 2400 AD whose illusions and sword techniques disrupt enemy flow in combat.
The trailer also showcased two contrasting settings: Himmenheim, a prehistoric town where Vikings coexist with dinosaurs, and a neon-soaked cyberpunk dystopia in 2400 AD. Both illustrate the game’s blend of retro-inspired design and modern visuals, powered by Unreal Engine 5. Hand-drawn 2D characters and pixel art evoke classic JRPGs, while fluid effects and lighting bring a contemporary edge.
Threads of Time does not yet have a confirmed release date, but it is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
