Square Enix and Claytechworks have premiered a new trailer for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales during Tokyo Game Show 2025, offering a fresh look at the upcoming HD-2D action RPG. The title is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, with a Switch 2-exclusive “Debut Demo” already available.

Created by the developers behind Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default, the game blends Square Enix’s distinctive HD-2D style with fast-paced action combat for the first time. Players take on the role of Elliot, an adventurer exploring dangerous lands beyond the Kingdom of Huther, humanity’s last sanctuary against invading beast tribes. Accompanied by his fairy companion Faie, Elliot embarks on a quest that stretches across both the continent and a thousand years of history.
Exploration will reveal hidden ruins and pathways while combat emphasizes real-time action combined with Faie’s strategic support abilities. The narrative promises to intertwine themes of hope, history, and fate as Elliot and Faie unravel mysteries tied to the continent’s forgotten past.
