Deep Silver and KING Art Games have officially unveiled Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, the next entry in the legendary real-time strategy franchise. The game is set to launch in 2026 for PC via Steam.

The sequel marks a return to the series’ classic RTS roots while delivering its largest campaign yet, featuring more than 70 missions across four playable factions. Making their Dawn of War debut, the Adeptus Mechanicus join the ranks alongside the Space Marines, Orks, and Necrons. Each faction offers distinct Commanders, units, and mechanics, ensuring unique strategic approaches on the battlefield.
The story, co-written by Black Library author John French, promises the most ambitious narrative in the series to date. Players can experience each faction’s dedicated campaign solo or in co-op, complete with cinematic intros and fully animated cutscenes.
Dawn of War IV brings back base building, large-scale battles, and the visceral Sync Kill combat system that defined earlier titles. Alongside the main campaign, the game features the endlessly replayable Last Stand mode, customizable AI battles in Skirmish, and competitive 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 multiplayer. Players can also personalize their armies with the Painter tool and battle across a variety of iconic Warhammer 40,000 settings.
With its blend of classic design and new additions, Dawn of War IV aims to deliver the definitive RTS Warhammer experience when it arrives in 2026.
