Square Enix Announces HD-2D action RPG The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales for Console and PC
Mrpoelie Square Enix announced a new HD-2D action RPG today during the Nintendo Partner Direct, titled The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. Set to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), the game marks a new project from the creators of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default.
Set across an expansive open world that spans both time and space, the game invites players to explore a vast, untamed continent while uncovering its hidden history. Blending striking HD-2D visuals with real-time combat, the adventure is shaped by the help of a companion fairy, who adds a layer of strategy to every encounter.
A free demo, exclusive to Switch 2, is available starting today via the Nintendo eShop. It offers a first look at the game’s exploration systems and combat mechanics ahead of its full release next year.
