Developer and publisher Nekki revealed a fresh gameplay trailer for its cinematic action title SPINE during the Future Games Show. Built on Unreal Engine 5 and utilizing Nekki’s proprietary animation software Cascadeur, the single-player “Gun Fu” beat ’em up is officially scheduled to launch in summer 2027 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Set within Tensor City – a dystopic cyberpunk megacity controlled by an autocratic AI regime – the narrative follows Redline, a rebellious street artist seeking to rescue her captured brother. She is joined by Spine, a sentient combat implant with its own distinct personality. The new gameplay footage showcases Tensor City’s supreme leader, Judge, alongside antagonists Edda Kopp and Malady, who wield combat implants of their own.
The trailer highlights SPINE‘s directional melee and ranged attacks, dynamic parry and dodge mechanics, environmental interactions, and boss encounters across diverse settings, including high-speed train rooftops, underground laboratories, and expansive greenhouse cliffs. Designed with choreography from professional action movie stunt specialists, the game features a dynamic camera system intended to deliver movie-style presentation without taking control away from the player.
SPINE is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and scheduled to launch in summer 2027.
