Publisher Kwalee and solo developer Chris Cote have announced that Welcome to Elderfield, a cozy horror RPG featuring hand-drawn manga-inspired visuals and a dark lo-fi soundtrack by Dated, will launch for PC via Steam on September 10, 2026.

Set in an unsettling town guarded by eldritch beings, the title combines classic life-simulation mechanics with survival elements and turn-based combat. Players can customize their home and character, farm crops such as pumpkins, teeth, and eyeballs, tend to otherworldly livestock, and build relationships – or romance – with local residents. Beyond farming and daily routines like fishing and mining, players must investigate local mysteries and battle ancient, Lovecraftian horrors using strategic buffs and gathered gear.
The game features adjustable difficulty settings, ranging from a laid-back cozy mode to a challenging, combat-focused experience.
A playable demo featuring the initial farm, local mall dungeon, and surrounding areas is available now on Steam.
