DaRmaZat Abylight Studios and Frictional Games have announced that the acclaimed sci-fi horror title SOMA will officially launch on Nintendo Switch on July 24. Originally released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, SOMA now arrives on Nintendo’s hybrid console with full optimization for portable play and Switch 2 compatibility.
Created by the minds behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent, SOMA takes players to the depths of PATHOS-II, an underwater research facility where humanity, identity, and consciousness unravel into a nightmarish experience. As players navigate its flooded corridors, they’ll confront disturbing truths and survival threats that blur the line between human and machine.
The Switch version preserves the original’s haunting atmosphere, narrative depth, and signature sound design, all while delivering smooth performance on the go. With a Metacritic score of 84, SOMA has become a benchmark for psychological horror—and soon, players will be able to carry that terror in their hands.
