DaRmaZat Game Science has released a six-minute in-engine cinematic trailer for Black Myth: Zhong Kui to celebrate the Chinese New Year on February 17. Created as a Year of the Horse special, the video is non-canon and intended purely for entertainment, with no direct connection to the game’s final story or gameplay.
While the footage does not represent the finished narrative experience, it offers a cinematic glimpse at the project’s visual direction and overall atmosphere, all rendered using in-engine assets.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui was first revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2025 and serves as the follow-up to Black Myth: Wukong, marking the second entry in the Black Myth series. Drawing inspiration from Chinese folklore, the game centers on Zhong Kui, the legendary ghost-catching deity said to wander between Hell and Earth.
The title is currently in development for PC and “mainstream console platforms”. A release date has not yet been announced.
