The action RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, further expanding the reach of Bethesda’s modernized take on one of the genre’s most influential titles. The remaster is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.

Originally released in April 2025 for current-generation platforms and PC, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered revisits the iconic world of Cyrodiil nearly two decades after the original game helped define open-world role-playing. This updated edition delivers a fully handcrafted remaster presented in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, combining visual overhauls with modernized gameplay systems while preserving the structure and scope of the classic experience.
Set during a time of crisis for the Empire, the story once again revolves around the Daedric invasion unleashed by Mehrunes Dagon. With the Septim bloodline broken and the gates of Oblivion opening across the land, players must explore Tamriel, uncover political intrigue, and ultimately determine the fate of the Imperial throne. Character creation and progression have been refined, giving players more control over how their hero develops, whether as a warrior, mage, rogue, or hybrid build.
Beyond the main campaign, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered includes the full breadth of post-launch content from the original release. Both major story expansions, Knights of the Nine and The Shivering Isles, are part of the package, alongside previously released downloadable content such as Fighter’s Stronghold, Mehrune’s Razor, Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, and the infamous Horse Armor Pack. Players opting for the Deluxe Edition also gain access to exclusive armor and weapon sets themed around Mehrunes Dagon and Akatosh, as well as a digital artbook and soundtrack.
With its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 planned for 2026, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered continues to bring the classic journey through Cyrodiil to new audiences while offering longtime fans a polished return to one of fantasy RPG’s most enduring worlds.
